The sailing courses listed below are “live aboard,” meaning the boat serves as your hotel as well as your classroom. Cabins on the boats are mostly double occupancy. In addition to accommodations, the cost of the course includes all instruction and provisioning for breakfasts, lunches, snacks, beverages and some dinners, which we all prepare and eat aboard. Part of the fun of cruising in new areas is trying the local cuisine, so we do plan to eat some dinners ashore. All dockage, mooring fees, fuel costs and cruising taxes are also included in the price. We spend the nights at anchor or on a mooring or docked at marinas in different ports and harbors. These live-aboard courses provide you with the opportunity to really go cruising, because you are living the lifestyle while you learn the skills. Oh, yes also included, at no extra charge, is a whole lot of fun!

PACIFIC NORTHWEST – Anacortes WA and the San Juan Islands
Go Northwest to a magnificent cruising area, the San Juan Islands. Most people picture the Pacific Northwest as cool and rainy, but these islands northwest of Seattle are in the lee of 3 different mountain ranges that produce a wonderful microclimate! Called the “Banana Belt” they receive less rainfall than Miami or New England, and have a very comfortable temperature range. The San Juan are comprised of hundreds of islands ranging from small. rocky outcrops to large, forest-covered mountains. Wildlife is plentiful – we may see anything from migratory birds and deer, to seals, sea lions, orcas and whales.
This 5-day sailing course will combine hands-on SEA SENSE instruction – boat handling, sail trim, tides and currents, navigation,docking and anchoring -with gorgeous scenery and abundant wildlife. These tried and proven coastal cruising courses let you hone existing skills while learning new ones in an incomparable setting.

ITALY – Sail the Incredible Amalfi Coast!

An irresistible 8-day sailing class for women along the Amalfi Coast of Italy. Learn sailing or increase your skills in the sparkling blue water of the Mediterranean, the Gulf of Napoli and on to the famous Isle of Capri. Enjoy cruising past ancient towns perched on sheer cliffs. In addition to sailing, there will be plenty of time to explore and soak up the region’s rich culture, cafes and shops.
This live aboard course will be taught on a fully equipped 40′ sloop. The price is $—- per person, which includes the boat, instruction, breakfasts, lunches, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Evening meals will be on shore in charming harbors and villages, where we’ll enjoy the fabulous Italian food and wine of the region.

Elbow Cay, Abacos, Bahamas
The laid back Bahama Islands are easy to get to and so close to home, just seventy miles east of Florida. It’s an incredible feeling to sail in the Sea of Abaco with the constant trade winds blowing, all the while tucked behind the barrier islands with calm and brilliant blue water. There are small settlements, snug harbors and gorgeous white sand beaches. It’s a fantastic place to learn or upgrade sailing skills, while chasing away the winter blahs and getting ready for the sailing season.
The 7-day, live aboard sailing class will be taught aboard a comfortable, modern, 43′ sloop. The class departs from Marsh Harbour, Abaco. The cost includes instruction, accommodations, all docking, mooring and fuel fees, cruising taxes, and provisioning for all breakfasts, lunches, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Dinners are eaten ashore to taste the local cuisine.
Also included in every course is a large dose of adventure and fun!
