Have you been thinking about a long distance passage and never made a voyage of that length, or run the Intracoastal Waterway, or been offshore? We’ll put a Coast Guard licensed, Sea Sense Instructor aboard your boat to teach and consult with you with respect to your plans and decisions every step of the way.

Many different situations can be encountered on any passage, be it two days or two weeks duration. Each new occurrence will be used as a teaching tool, from tides and currents in different areas to entering new harbors, dealing with traffic, learning about channel markers and planning the next day’s run.

Planning and achieving cruising goals are the point of this course, with emphasis on teaching you how to make the necessary decisions to be able to do-it-yourself, and send you on your way safely and confident in your own ability.

You’ll be issued a certificate, which will make your insurance company smile.
