Learn powerboating with SEA SENSE! Take advantage of our years of experience as powerboating instructors to learn all about
cruising on powerboats. Here’s your chance to become comfortable and confident with helmsmanship, navigation, safety procedures, line handling, anchoring, docking and much, much more!
These courses listed are “live aboard,” meaning the boat serves as your hotel as well as your classroom. Cabins are mostly double occupancy. In addition to accommodations, the cost of the course
includes instruction, all dockage and mooring fees, fuel costs and any cruising taxes. Also included are provisions for breakfasts, lunches, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Dinner is
eaten ashore, to enjoy the local specialties. We spend the nights docked at marinas or anchored in wonderful ports and harbors. These live-aboard courses give you the opportunity to really go
cruising, because you are living the lifestyle while you learn the skills.
Also included, at no extra charge, is a whole lot of fun!

London to cruise to historic destinations such as Oxford, Windsor, Henley and
Hampton Court! The famous river meanders through the beautiful green countryside

SEA SENSE is offering week-long Passagemaking Courses aboard the 40 foot power
catamaran, “GRAMPSTR’S ENDEAVOUR,” in the Spring of 2012. The boat will be
northbound from St. Petersburg, FL to Baltimore, MD and the trip will be divided
into 1 week passages. The courses are an opportunity to learn in a real passagemaking environment with professional captains. Passagemaking Courses are just one of the unique
learning experiences that SEA SENSE has planned in their program for 2012.

I watched a captain show a couple new to boating the basics today about docking
and boat handling. I was impressed watching her the entire day as the Carver
went in and out of the marina. Later, I heard her mention she was from St.
Petersburg, and I called out if she was from Sea Sense. Of course! It was
Captain Laura Nelson. It was great fun watching a pro teach a couple who at the
moment know very little but got a lot of information today. The woman docked the
boat several times and I could hear your voices in my head: “Go slow, nothing
bad happens at idle speed.” Sandy, the wife, now wears her yellow Sea Sense

"I really enjoyed the class & feel like I learned so much! You are a great
teacher. Although many people “can” teach … it takes a special gift to make it
fun. When we were getting ready to leave the dock to head back home … instead of
“waiting” to be told what order to release the lines in – I actually looked at
the lines with my own eyes and then TOLD my husband in what order I would be
releasing them. I know it may seem like a minor accomplishment but baby steps
are good! I feel like I can work on becoming more of a partner on the boat!"
